Integrating Technology
I use technology in three, very different, ways in my classroom. First, technology gives me the opportunity for students to create their own learning experiences and to self differentiate. Creating assignments that allow students to act as native digital citizens puts them in a place of comfort. I always give students, less familiar with technology, the opportunity to work in a guided group. However, I have found, that working in a differentiated group always benefits them far more than working with me. The second way that I integrate technology in my classroom is through digital content. In my classroom I use three different digital content strategies: ALEKS Math, Khan Academy, and USA Test Prep. Finally, I often use technology to deliver my instruction. Using technology, to deliver the instruction, allows me to give high achieving students access to work at their own pace, while guiding the instruction for lower level students who need more guidance. Other times, using technology allows me to keep students paced with me as you will see evidenced in my integration video.
