Standard 3: Excellence in Professional Practice
Standard 3: Excellence in Professional Practice, addresses the need for administrators to support teachers with professional development that allows teachers to become versed in technologies and their integration, for a more confident implementation of instructional technologies in the classroom. More specifically, this includes allocating time and funds for continual professional development. Ultimately, teachers should be able to fluently use the technology they are integrating for a more confident approach. One of the ways this confidence can be built is through the successful use of learning communities that support staff with questions and ideas for integrations. Educational leaders are responsible for maintaining current knowledge of research and trends in the instructional technology field and promoting communication among stakeholders to ensure effective and successful collaboration of ideas.
