Nearpod
Nearpod is a great classroom tool. I use it for my blended learning rotations so that students can access content and practice in the same presentation. The slides allow me to post content, websites, and activities. I can post the work of other students for analysis, without calling on a single student, or singling out anyone. This creates a lot of mathematical dialogue. The purpose of Nearpod is two fold, it gives each student the ability to access the information while they practice, and it gives teachers the ability to pace students, or to allow students to work at their own pace. Although adding content is a great feature, it is adding an activity that takes Nearpod to the next level, allowing all students to interact with practicing at the same time. This site has contributed to the students ability to argue with facts, and to speak mathematically, and problem solve. It has also given students the ability to correct someone else's work without the insult of who was "wrong", often students will correct their own work, because no one knows it was their work to begin with. Nearpod ... creating mathematical arguments, one slide at a time!!!
